Here are a few of my favorite drink recipes to share with you.
The “infamous” Manhattan:
2.5oz Blended Scotch Whiskey
.75oz Sweet Vermouth
dash of bitters
Shake the whiskey and vermouth and bitters in a shaker until it’s ice cold. Strain into a Martini glass and serve with a maraschino cherry. You can also add lemon twist, I don’t.
The “James Bond Martini”:
3oz Gordon’s Gin
1/2oz Vermouth (Lillet Blanc, if possible)
Shake until it’s ice cold. Strain into a Martini glass and garnish with olives. Remember SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED!
The Mai Tai, by Trader Vic Bergeron:
1oz Fine Jamaican Rum (15 or 8 year old)
1oz Martinique Rum (St. James)
1/2oz Orange Curacao
1/2oz Orgeat Syrup (I use Torani)
Juice from one fresh lime (about 3/4 ounce)
Shake until cold. Serve in an double old fashioned glass over crushed ice garnish with half a lime.
