So recently I had a theory of what people base their political views off of, and I narrowed it down to three things.
1 - Faith in government (can include monarchs and religious political leaders)
2 - Faith in individuals (everyday people)
3 - Faith in the Market (taxes, regulations, corporations etc.)
Feel free to post any thoughts you have on this, or any holes in the theory.
Additionally, here are some examples of where this applies
-Communist: Extremely high faith in government, low faith in individuals, low faith in markets
-Classical Liberal: Moderate faith in government, high faith in individuals, moderate faith in markets
-Conservative: Low faith in government, moderate faith in individuals, high faith in markets
-Anarchist: Low faith in government, extremely high faith in individuals, high faith in markets
