Your vehicle stops under the portico of Government house. An impeccably dressed Royal Marine opens your car door and pays you compliments before chaperoning you inside the Official Residence.
Once inside the main atrium an aide-de-camp of the Governor General approaches and informs you to take a seat prior to your meeting with the Governor General. He leaves you for a few moments with nothing but the sounds of a distant door closing, the chattering of many typewriters and the occasional ringing of a telephone.
Within a short period of time the aide-de-camp returns and escorts you to the corridor outside one of Governor Generals many meeting places - either his official offices, drawing room or one of the sitting rooms. He smiles politely as he beckons you to stop before he enters the room first announcing your presence.
