I would take issue with your presumed stance on migration. Welcome to the forums…
I just don’t like how liberals think mass Islamic migration is okay when obviously it drastically raises the crime rate and terrorism. I mean sure it helps people, but it hurts people too, worse yet it hurts the people around you. If people are getting blown up by terrorists in their own countries at least it doesn’t hurt us. Everybody should feel safe in their own damn country. The screwed up countries need to help themselves. I don’t want to feel like I might be raped like I would feel if I was walking down a street in Amsterdam or Malmo or London. Remember when these places used to be safe?
Her unparalleled feminism, yes she is portrayed to ‘hate men’ but if you read her book, she explains her views in much detail and you will soon see she doesn’t hate men as such.[quote=“Joshrune, post:1231, topic:106680”]
Why do you support the Labour Party?
Labour in my eyes at least have been the biggest champion of equality! The Tories have had their share, but can we put things like same sex marriage down to them when half of their party voted against and infact it was the Lib Dems who even got the Tories to think of it?
I think you can be pro business and still support workers rights.[quote=“SovietMog, post:1232, topic:106680”]
maybe, but hes brought the party to the hard left and gave it a proper presence in UK Politics, a very very necessary thing in the coming decades, a resurgence of real socialism is vital for dealing with the issues of climate change and automation.
I don’t think he’s hard left and that’s me even saying it!
Thank you![quote=“Kyoko, post:1236, topic:106680”]

Please don’t stereotype, just one thing I’d say is most terrorists are home grown so the way we tackle with that is with education and going into mosques and raising awareness. Also rape and crime has always happened, but yes it does need to be tackled.
Make no mistake, my family came from Pakistan in the 1960s yet still we are fully integrated and worked for everything we have. We have never lived off benefits which the Daily Mail seem to love painting us all as. There’s plenty of hard working muslims!
I’d just like to add I’m currently studying for a degree in English and History at Birmingham Uni
Hatred is never good, but doesn’t same sex marriage, or supporting it, go against the Muslim faith?
And welcome to the forums, of course!
hes a slick entryist, i do believe him when he says he is a democratic socialist, his plans are very much early reform structures, his support of co ops and socialist movements and worker solidarity movements. He is however limited by uk politics.
I wish a stronger version of him was in charge, but I will take what we socialists can get
the seats warm for you social democrat , come join us.
Well, to be fair, I hadn’t stereotyped. Sorry if it came off that way.
I recognize even most Muslims are probably decent people. Nevertheless, there is a high risk for terror in taking in migrants. I am against it, unless I become an ultra-Utilitarian - which perhaps raises another question, is it immoral not to take them in? Will I be in trouble with my own creator if I don’t support pro-migrant policies? IDK. I think it could go both ways…on one hand, sure, by not taking them in you’re arguably hurting more people than you’re helping (although there’s no hard stats for this - I mean, if you combine all the victims of Muslim crime in the UK and the victims of terrorism, it might even add up to more people than we are helping, i don’t know) on the other hand there is a clear argument that since British people didn’t vote for those wars that made the ME a bad place to begin with, it shouldn’t be their responsibility to take them in (why must they suffer terror attacks for something they did not vote for?).
At any rate you seem very nice which is something we could use a little more of around here.
Thanks for calling me nice!
But yeah I’m someone who thinks there does need to be controls on immigration, down to the tens of thousands which means I’m aligned to Tory policy lmao
I was in Halifax last night while very very intoxicated!
Welcome to the Forums
Welcome Sukh! Love to see more diversity here, look forward to seeing you around.
Hi y’all. Well, I’m not actually a new member in the forum, I’ve just been absent for two years, but now that I’ve finally finished school I found some time to come back here and seriously “WOW”, this community has really grown. Cheers guys.
Anyway, I’m Dimitris, from Thessaloniki, Greece. I’m 18 years old and on October I’m going to start studying cinematography and theater. Big fan of music (mostly punk and psychedelic) and cinema. Regarding politics I’m a democratic socialist.
So, hi guys!
Welcome back, man! The forum software has changed a fair bit, so if you’re wondering about anything, send me a message and I’ll answer any questions you have!
Nice. There’s a music recommendation thread floating around in the off topic section, new suggestions are always welcomed
Well, at first I was a big supporter of Syriza. But it was just enthusiasm I guess. Their actions after the referendum left me and most Greek left wing supporters disappointed. Thus, there’s no Greek party I support at the moment.
True, I remembered it way simpler. But it’s okay, I browsed for a while here and there and I think I’ve already found everything. But thanks.
Also, yeah, you’ll probably find me at that thread soon
It grew and then shrank again. There was a period where membership was very high and members where constantly active, now it has died significantly, the founder of the site left and hasn’t posted in eons and only a handful of people only really come on here.
Do you remember anyone from the old forum?
Q hello I. My name. Jeff
