It's worrying that a critic has to warn people that, due to an historical setting, a movie fails to feature lead minorities and women. I don't think people questioned it until the critic brought it up.
I'm not sorry that historically speaking the people in charge of the platoons are all white men, or that black people were sent to concentration camps by the Nazis.
It's no longer the case that people are fighting over equal rights. It's now the case where we have people moaning over silly cases of lacking diversity that are special cases. It would be the exactly the same case, but the opposite, if we had a movie in the historical setting where there is a large number of minorities and no white men. But in that case, we wouldn't see this backlash. It would be more celebrated.
