No, I do not agree with the statement. Though for me it's not about what lies below, so to speak. I don't know if I could find a trans person attractive, not simply because of their bodies, but their mental state (I am NOT suggesting that there is present in all trans people a mental disorder). Because for me attraction is not purely physical, it is mental and emotional.
I don't know if I could feel attracted to someone who is so unhappy with their body and mental state that they decide to alter their body (this applies to non trans people who resort to plastic surgery for cosmetic purposes). I realise that this might make me sound like a heartless ass-hole, but that is how I feel.
And I do not see my position as being trans-phobic, unless of course this is yet another phobia based on a simple disagreement. I do not hate trans people, as I do not hate gays or lesbians. Sexuality is a difficult phenomenon, made more difficult by our current society. I too must admit that it is something with which I have struggled. But as to the OP, I do not agree with the statement.
