The Republican party is finishing up their party platform for the convention. Earlier this week the GOP platform committee’s subcommittee on healthcare, education, and crime held votes on what they saw as the biggest issues facing America today.

Their results: Porn & Gays

Mary Forrester, the North Carolina delegate who introduced the pornography amendment after working on it Concerned Women for America, said she was worried about young people becoming addicted to porn on the internet.

“It’s such an insidious epidemic and there are no rules for our children,” Ms Forrester said. “They do not have the discernment and so they become addicted before they have the maturity to understand the consequences.”

The amendment to the party platform states: “Pornography, with his harmful effects, especially on children, has become a public health crisis that is destroying the life of millions. We encourage states to continue to fight this public menace and pledge our commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing.” They are pushing for more strict rules on how people access porn or the outright ban of online pornography completely.

Another amendment pushed for endorsing and federal funding for “conversion therapy” for LGBT children, which has been completely debunked and shown to cause harm, and often ends in the death of the child. This amendment was introduced by noted Anti-LGBT “activist” Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council. The group has been declared a hate group and their PAC was formerly run by famous adulterer and child molester Josh Dugger.

Most problems that people want fixed can’t be fixed with rule of law. Social justice and morals can only be fixed by us the people.
We do have a porn issue. We do have a “fad” that is LGBT. These things cannot be fixed unless we do it ourselves. We need to care less about other people’s lives and more about our own.

What? Care to elaborate lol?

Yeah, mostly in Republican areas. What happened to the party of liberty? Over the last two decades they’ve fought to take away more freedoms than any other party or time in our history.

#4

Wait, they think that porn and homosexuality are bigger issues than cancer/ various diseases/ obesity/ mental health?

#5

TIL porn is more of a health concern than cancer…

#6

Pretty much this:

#7

Even the Log Cabin Republicans have stated this is the most bigoted, anti-LGBT party platform in the GOP’s 162 year history.

All I’m saying is that more people become trans when they are told that it’s normal. Sorry I didn’t mean LGBT fad I means trans fad. When LGB accepted T into it, all the tom boys, drag queens, crossdressers, etc. felt the need to suddenly change their gender when it really made no difference. Not to mention the fact that the ones who still haven’t become trans are stereotyped as trans when they’re really just rejecting the norm for their gender.
And I’m not sure that you can blame anyone for how much porn is watched, but you can for porn distributed.
Still, not a political set of issues.

#9

No. More people come out as trans when it becomes more socially acceptable.

#10

These are important issues.

#11

Yes. Exactly. That’s exactly what it is.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

#13

How?

Exactly, can they focus on an important issue for once?

#14

Because there’s a lot of porn and gay people.

Important issue =/= Priority.

#15

Nah, I’m too young to say so myself, but all of the trans people coming out are either young or completely in the closet. There’s plenty of people who were already out of the closet and not trans. Trans is a social construct. People are accepting the social contstruct of trans because they are brainwashed into accepting the social construct of gender. None of it actually exists. Trans people would just be normal people if they were stripped of their possessions. Trans is a complete social construct created through a materialistic world.

#16

And how’s that causing a problem?

#17

Pretty sure there are.

#18

This just gets crazier the further into the rabbit hole you go. Tell me again how this is a consequence of materialism.

#19

What I’m hearing is Forrester going “I found gay porn on my sons computer and how he devil bc idk how to handle real life”.

#20

By fad, are you referring to the LGBT movement or homosexuality?
