So. This was completely unexpected of the government to call this, but there obviously has to be a reason.
Now Theresa May hasn't resigned, so she's is clearly still up for leading post-Brexit Britain if she wins, but why call this election? I personally think that she's done this to try and reshape a currently divided parliament after Brexit has been passed, since some counties have turned on their MPs since they were elected in 2015, and the approval rate for the Brexit has gone up.
To be clearer, May has passed Brexit at the request of the British people, and I think she's calling this election to make sure the British people are truly behind her as she leads us out of the EU, because it doesn't matter which government wins, they will have to lead us out of the EU regardless.
